The Well Holdings Ltd. (which operates The Well Irish Pub & Restaurant at Saito Centre, Elijah Cheruiyot St., Eldoret and Rupa’s Mall, Nairobi Road, Eldoret) is currently seeking applicants for the follow positions:

Head Chef, Saito Centre


• leads in the preparation of delicious, innovative local and international dishes to the highest standards;

• ensures that menus are constantly updated, paying special attention to food offerings and descriptions attracting high-end clients; 

• ensures that all menu item prices are correctly calculated to ensure maximum gross profit;

• supervises kitchen staff ensuring an appropriate work roster is developed and adhered to, attendance registers are kept, and any absenteeism is reported to management;

• ensures that all kitchen staff are constantly trained to effect good portion control and pleasing presentation of dishes;

• ensures that all staff are dressed correctly to satisfy statutory requirements as well as enhancing the image of the establishment;ensures that sufficient stocks of all ingredients are ordered and stored under the correct conditions;

• liaises with Manager on regular basis regarding special requirements, functions, etc. and assists in development of marketing and advertising campaigns to attract patrons;

• ensures that all statutory hygiene requirements are diligently followed in food preparation and in the kitchen and stores; 

• ensures that maintenance problems are promptly reported;

• ensures regular stock-takes are conducted and secure and dependable systems are in place to manage kitchen inventory;

• supports efforts to maintain client satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food offerings and initiating improvements.


• Minimum 5 years previous experience as a Chef with demonstrated team leadership responsibilities; 

• Relevant post-High School qualification;

• A natural leader, with ability to get the best from a team;

• A good communicator (verbal and written), exceptionally friendly and inclusive, even after a long shift;

• Strong knowledge of high-end food market; 

• Ability to stay calm and collected under pressure, being a calming influence on the team.

Bartender, Rupa's Mall


• Plan, organize, and control the operations of the bar;

• Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons;

• Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment and keep the premises neat and tidy;

• Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol;

• Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons;

• Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar;

• Order or requisition liquors and supplies and assist the Manager with various stock takes when required;

• Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays;

• Take responsibility for security of stock in the bar area and restrict access of other staff and customers;

• Other duties as required.


• Minimum of four years’ experience in a restaurant or catering environment including tray and bar service. In addition;

• strong communication skills;

• strong work ethic;

• immaculately presented;

• relevant post-High School qualification.
